We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

The Sunset Solace house was a real winner for us. We rented it for our summer family trip including 17 of us, ages 1-66, plus two more near-90 YO’s who stayed elsewhere but joined us during the day. First, the house sits on Lewis Smith Lake, which is picturesque, active and busy, and SO nice to swim in. The water temperature during our late June stay was perfect - neither too cool nor too warm. Having direct access to the lake, literally down a few steps off the back of the house, was wonderful. And the splash pad was a gigantic hit with all of our grandkids 4 and up! Several good quality life vests were provided (we bought a few more at a nearby Walmart). The house itself was one of the nicest we’ve rented - and we’ve rented many, at least ten large homes over the years for family trips like this, in lots of different places. When we arrived, we were welcomed with all the lights on, and the AC had the interior feeling nice and cool. (With 3 levels, I worried about whether the AC would be cool enough, especially on the top level, but there are 3 units/zones and everyone was very comfortable!) The main level has a good sized living room with seating for 8-10 adults, a fairly big dining table with 5 additional barstools, a very nice master bedroom, and a half bath with washer & dryer. The kitchen appliances worked well - notably, the ice maker kept up with all of us! Upstairs are two nice sized bedrooms and a full bath, and downstairs are 3 more bedrooms, including one with four built-in twin bunks, and another full bath. All in all, lots of beds and privacy for our big group. Every house we’ve ever rented has had its unique quirks; this property manager was quick about answering Q’s, and very interested in feedback about the property, a new listing for them. In fact, when we rented this house, it had NO reviews. I spoke with Andrea @ Smith Lake Rentals before I reserved it, and based on her recommendation having seen the house, we went for it… and we were glad we did! Once again, this is easily one of the best home we’ve rented; we always do a vacation debrief with our adult kids and in-laws at the end of our trip, and they also all agreed this was a great place to stay. And the lake (and ease of access to the lake) was just wonderful to have. In short, if the size and configuration meets your needs, you will have a WONDERFUL stay here.

But when I spoke with Andrea @ Smith Lake Rentals before I reserved it, she assured me she had just come from the house and that it was really a nice one. Based on her recommendation, we went for it… and we were glad we did! Both the house and Smith Lake Rentals were a great experience. The property was great in terms of size and location. The dock was super great for the kids and adults can see them from the deck. They swam in the water for a good portion of the time. The property was very clean and had good kitchen supplies. I would definitelyMy only disappointment is lack of items such as toilet paper and other supplies. They give a “starter” which is essentially a left over from the previous guest. I’ve paid less for other rentals and had adequate toilet paper, paper towels, and small hotel like shampoo and soap supplies as well as a fair amount of wash clothes and towels. They do send an email for what you will need to bring, but it is my opinion that for the price an adequate supply could be provided.Otherwise, I would not hesitate to rent this place if you have a big family or group of friends. It’s a great property.

Very nice

This Lake home was beautiful. The house is laid out in a way where everyone has their own space. The kitchen was furnished with everything that we needed. The upper balcony was our favorite part. You can see the kids swimming while sitting on the porch rocking in a rocking chair or relaxing on the couch. Both of the grills were ready to use. The house comes with kayaks for the kids. The communication with the host was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were high-quality and very clean. Overall the house was spotless and I didn’t need to worry about anything once I arrived, which is exactly why I went absolutely loved this property.
