GORGEOUS LAKE VIEWS! Come to Smith Lake and relax! Enjoy this perfect home, complete with a wraparound deck to enjoy the sunset. Or sit by the fire pit at dusk. A double decker dock with deep water off the dock for fun in the water! Kayaks for the renter's use. All the amenities you need inside the house, including a Smart TV, WiFi, board games, fully equipped kitchen, and gas grill.
Enjoy the beautiful nature of Smith Lake or it is also a short drive into Cullman, for dining, shopping and local festivals!

Huge dock with 24' x 10' boat slip. Swim docks are 30' x 14' and 10' x6'. Top level is 32' x 14' with a"jump" point! There are no steps to the dock. There is no power on the dock. Yearround water. 2 kayaks with paddles.
Please Note: The owner has Security Cameras installed at the front door and the dock.
Also, be aware that the road is gravel getting to the house. There is a sharp turn down the driveway and no parking for a trailer. Two vehicles should fit at the bottom, one or two in the back grilling area, and two on the parking pad as you go up the driveway.
RESERVATIONS ARE NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL YOU RETURN THE RENTAL AGREEMENT TO SMITH LAKE RENTALS. NO after-prom, graduation, frat, wedding, etc parties. Any gathering larger than the Max occupancy has to be preapproved. Violation will result in eviction.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE PRIMARY RENTER MUST MEET THE AGE REQUIREMENT OF 25 YEARS OF AGE

This is a beautiful home. As previous reviewers have stated, drive is steep and has a very sharp curve at the top of it. Entering the house was slightly confusing, per instructions, but got that figured out. (This home has five entrance doors. You enter on lower level.) There was a slight smell of mothballs upon entering. The home is very spacious and pretty. Kitchen was well stocked -nice pots. The frying pans may need updating soon but, kitchen was great! The beds we used were very comfortable and clean. EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE! AC worked very well. The dock is right by house, it was a steep walkway, but no stairs. Be prepared for wasp activity at the dock. There was wasp spray there we were able to use. We never got stung and after I sprayed , had no more issues. I enjoyed sunning and swimming at the dock. Beautiful lake and peaceful experience overall. Would go back again.

GREAT PRIVATE PLACE TO ENJOY THE LAKE
The small road leading into the house was starting to disappoint then the 140 degree turn down a steep hill, really made my heart drop this wasn't good. BUT when we got to the bottom of the hill, WOW, it was GREAT!! We enjoyed the house, the boat slip, and swimming dock!! House was clean, well supplied, beautiful porch overlooking lake. We even enjoyed fire pit, roasting marsh mellows and used the charcoal grill. LOVE IT!! All was GREAT!! Just be prepared for dirt road with power lines on road, literally running over them to get there!
Crane Nest was great! We stayed as a family and enjoyed it. Easy walk down (no stairs) to boat / swimming dock. Family loved hanging out on dock, and swimming. Only stairs are at house itself. House clean and well supplied. We very much enjoyed our stay. Only thing is drive way coming in. NO TRAILERS can make the turn even large long wheel base truck (like I had) is tough. This place is secluded, down a STEEP hill and wow it opens up to the lake. This isn't a complaint just a notice. We enjoyed the stay and would love to go back!!

Excellent stay at Crane’s Nest! Beautiful home, awesome dock and in a great part of the lake. Not too far from Cullman which has the most awesome brewery I have ever visited - Goat Island Brewing! Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing getaway on the lake, and definitely recommend a visit to Goat Island during your stay!
